CPL Productions - Pride in PeopleCPL Productions, since its inception in early 2006 has had one thing clear: to suceed in the modern business envionment, it is necessary to have the right people. "That's why since day one I went about finding talented and creative individuals with whom I could run a slick and well managed business venture" says Conor Lyons, founder and general good-time guy.
Conor's own talents at photography had been left largely un-"exploited" prior to that fateful April Day when the idea came. "Suddenly I realized that what I had was merchantable". However never one to think within a conserative mindscheme Conor always had his eye on expansion.
CPL, from photos to much, much moreThe initial formula had worked up to a point, but CPL needed to evolve "I felt that we had to diversify what we were doing... that there was room beyond the purely "photo"business per se. "I decided that I wanted to branch into videography, specifically custom video". As Conor would quickly add none of this would have been possible without the ambition and determination of two friends Daithí de Phoíte and Daniel O'Carroll. Daithí, a keen gaelgóir and prodigious writer of Irish poetry himself was excited about the venture. "Obviously Daithí's all about Gaeilge and filíocht (poetry)" says Connor "But he brings a great diversifaction to the team. No two opinions are the same". This statement is better qualified when one considers that Daniel O'Carroll is an accomplished bobsleigher. "We're a strange bunch" admits Conor, "But all the better!".
FutureConor whilst for now happy to operate under a Partnership agreement doesn't rule out incorporation and even an
IPO on the Irish Enterprise Exchange (IEX) years down the line. For the time being, however, Conor is keen to increasingly be doing new things. "The bus to Oxygen is really thinking outside the box!" says Conor, referring to the packaged deal which CPL is running to the Oxygen Music Festival. "Whilst I venture into such non-core business ideas with a degree of hesitancy" says Conor, "our success so far has led me to beleive that there is the demand to make it viable. Increasingly, we're seeing a cross-involvment between the sectors. The bus to Oxygen features t-shirts which advertise various sponsors. Such advertising is fundementally a form of "media" hence keeping true to our eternal mantra "CPL Productions, Cork Media Solutions"..
